“Being entirely honest with oneself is a good exercise.”

Let’s be honest, being honest is hard. Merely being is hard. We lie to people all the time. We lie to our mothers, wives, clients, friends, and most importantly women in general. We are lying all the time, but are we being honest? Even though we are not being honest to others, we are being honest with ourselves and that is a good exercise. You don’t have to be honest with everybody; you just have to keep a good relationship with yourself.

Please have a cigar, take it from me: you don’t have to be honest to people all the time, you think that people make money because they’re being honest? If you want to be honest with others you better start searching for a new place to live, like a new universe. I got LSD if you want. Come on, it would be fun, I’ll psychoanalyze you. You know what they say: if it’s bitter it’s a spitter, I only get the good stuff though, trust Uncle Freud on this one. Are you in for some pre-coke before we start the session? They say it gets you even higher if you mix it with coke. I tried it a couple of times, one time I got really high on coke and LSD that I got to meet Shakespeare himself. You know what Shakespeare told me back then? He told me “Fock being honest.”

When was the last time you lied to someone? Last month? Are you lying right now? You don’t have to answer that. I know how you feel. Great self-control is essential to keep your honesty in a box. It is also necessary for you to reveal to yourself that you are a scoundrel among all noble souls since the ideals and civilization are a burden. Forget the ideals; even paradise itself is nothing but a composite phantasy from the childhood of the individual. Have another line. Down that pill. Destroy your ideals.

Do you know where the liberty of the individual lies? Neither do I, but it’s no gift of civilization. When was the last time you experienced existential dread? When you first came here? Are you lying right now? You don’t have to answer that. Great self-control is essential to keep your honesty in a box. Did the acid kick in? Turn the music up, “The End” this is my favorite Doors song.

When was the last time you felt anxiety? You’re not sure what anxiety is? Originally, anxiety in children is nothing other than an expression of the fact that they are feeling the loss of the person they love. You lost your dog in a massive explosion? That explains a lot. What would you want to say to your dog if he was here right now? Ok you don’t have to answer that.

Listen; there are three types of anxiety:

· Reality anxiety
· Neurotic anxiety
· Moral anxiety

A major drive for people is the reduction of tension and the major cause of tension is anxiety. There are three types of anxiety; reality anxiety, neurotic anxiety, and moral anxiety. I’m repeating myself because the music is too loud.

· Reality anxiety is the most basic form of anxiety and is based on the ego. It is typically based on the fear of real and possible events. For example, losing your dog in a massive explosion of ammonium nitrate.

· Neurotic anxiety comes from an unconscious fear that the basic impulses of the id will take control of the person, like masturbating in your car while sitting in traffic or pissing on a church wall, leading to eventual punishment.

· Moral anxiety comes from the superego. It appears in the form of a fear of violating values or moral codes (like honesty) and appears as feelings of guilt or shame.

When anxiety occurs, the mind’s first response is to seek rational ways of escaping the situation by increasing problem-solving efforts and a range of defense mechanisms may be triggered, like taking coke and LSD with your therapist.

You know why people like drugs? Drugs commend themselves to us because they save us pain and allow us to enjoy pleasure instead. We must therefore accept it without complaint when they sometimes collide with a bit of reality. Anyhow, I guess your time is up, see you next Monday Mr. Foucault.
