Foucault’s confession

“I’m no prophet. My job is making windows where there were once walls.”

Before getting into the construction industry, Foucault used to live off acting in shampoo commercials. From Pantene to Dove to Dettol to his head and shoulders; “A man’s gotta eat.” Foucault confessed to the priest.

After Foucault turned bald due to exhausting his scalp using various shampoos, he couldn’t act in shampoo commercials anymore, so he started working as a glazier. In the year 1953, Foucault was installing windows in a northern town in France called Lille. When Foucault finished installing windows around the chateau, he got into an argument with the lord of the manor about installation fees.

The lord of the manor exclaimed: “Who do you think you are for asking such a price?! A prophet?” in which Foucault replied: “I’m no prophet. My job is making windows where there were once walls.” Then the lord of the manor took a second look at Foucault with eyes wide open and asked him: “Aren’t you the man from shampoo commercials? My god you’ve gone completely bald!” At that moment, Foucault had a flashback and recalled one of the shampoo slogans, raised his head proudly and said: “Say goodbye to tangles!” The lord of the manor retorted: “What’s that supposed to mean?!”

To end the conversation, Foucault told the lord of the manor: “I don’t feel that it is necessary to know exactly what I am. The main interest in life and work is to become someone else that you were not in the beginning.” Then Foucault left the chateau to become the philosopher we know of today.

Philosophers lives matter. For existential purposes and failure in getting rich, I am overclocking my liver to refurbish Filosophy. A page for all and none.
